The Foundation of Our Faith
This Easter celebration takes us deep into the foundation of our faith, reminding us that everything we believe rests on three essential truths: Christ died, He was buried, and He rose again. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, we're invited to examine what truly grounds our lives. In a world where 60% of people feel lost and disconnected, where uncertainty surrounds us daily, we desperately need a foundation that can withstand every storm. Jesus spoke about this in the Sermon on the Mount, contrasting the wise builder who builds on rock with the foolish one who builds on sand. Our foundation isn't our family, our career, or even our church attendance—it's Christ Himself and what He accomplished. His death wasn't just a tragic event; it was the propitiation for our sins, the reconciliation that brings us back to God. His burial wasn't incidental—it demonstrated the reality of His death and our separation from God that He experienced on our behalf. But the resurrection changes everything. When the women arrived at the tomb that first Easter morning and heard the angel say, 'He is not here; He has risen,' death itself was defeated. For over 2,000 years, believers have greeted each other with 'He is risen' and responded 'He is risen indeed' because this foundation gives us eternal life. Without the resurrection, as Paul reminds us, our faith would be in vain. But because Christ lives, we can face every storm, every uncertainty, knowing we're built on the only foundation that will never crumble.
